Program Note

Paths Unplanned is a reflection on how my perspective has shifted over the course of young adulthood. As life unfolds, many of us find ourselves walking down paths that we never envisioned for ourselves, faced with unavoidable, and at times, unchangeable circumstances standing between us and our goals.

Looking back on the challenges I’ve face over the last several years, I am struck by several thoughts: First, that even if you end up on a different path than you would have chosen for yourself, you can still grow and find value in difficult circumstances. It’s okay to do things in your own time, your own way.

This piece is about that: The path to understanding that you don’t need to speed your way through life, and that it’s okay to take the time that you need.
